I saw that this video was doing the rounds on the internet. Can you believe this guy?

Let us think of this in an objective way. Let us suppose that there was a lot of oil in Alaska and the companies knew about it but decided to keep the oil under hoods so that they could push the price of oil artificially high. Would it be really feasible for the companies to do so? Would they not benefit much more if they did not have to buy the oil from Saudi Arabia or Russia or Canada but instead could work out a deal with the government and get the crude from Alaska at a much cheaper rate? If they could sell cheap oil, why would they not do so? Especially since now they are paying a huge sum of money for the raw material and then they are not making much by selling the finished product.

Like this author claims, its has to be bull shit.

Sex and the city - Who watches that S*&#

Who watches Sex and the City? I am a guy and I sat through one once and happened to chance on it sometimes while surfing channels. Ok I know - its a girls serial so I am unlikely to like it in the first place, but how can girls like it? Are they so different as to be mentally retarded?

Also it says here that the average NYC girl has about 20 sexual partners. Is that good? Is that normal. Humans are by nature a monoandrous or monogamous animal. Does having multiple sexual partners speak of high or low self esteem? Are these women just not able to meet the right guy or do they pick up any flotsam that comes their way?

Human females are more likely to choose attractive human males when they are in "heat". It has been shown that females are more attracted to muscular, attractive males at certain portions of their menstrual cycle. However most committed women overcome their genetic urges and refrain from mating with these men since they consciously understand that it amounts to infidelity. Being driven by your carnal urges is in no way being human.

I feel sorry for the girls from Sex and the City. If you ask me Friends was a much better serial. There people had multiple sex partners, but they seemed more normal people with normal lives.

Adirondacks

Went to the Adirondacks this memorial day weekend. Beautiful. Went Hiking on the Dix Trail. This was the first time. Took lots of Gatorade, some Snickers bars and some lunch. Neena was afraid that a bear would come :-).
We thought that we will climb Macombe but the trail was overgrown and we decided not to risk it being newbies and all that.
We stated at the Shamrock motel. Wonderful place. Just beside Long Lake. And the town nearby is a sweet little place.
Plan to go back soon to the mountains. This time we will take on something more daunting.

On Porn, Feminism and...

I found this website. Porn. Well statistics say that 28 thousand people are watching porn every second on the internet. Many women watch porn too.
I personally feel that porn had educational value apart from entertainment value. Being Indian and without sex education as a part of the curricular (even now in some schools!!), knowledge about sex came from porn. Its sad but its true. Almost all the people of my generation I know learned about sex through porn.
Also I think porn helps in teaching new things - new ways of having sex, new positions. I know that porn is shot in a very different position than most people have sex in (missionary is still the most popular) as opposed to porn where the female frontal has to be shown.
There are many vices. Gambling, Smoking, Drinking, watching porn. People do it. Its psychological. Pornography is not new. Like prostitution it started very early - all most as soon as man became man. Why should we be ashamed of the way we are wired? Does it hurt anyone? Does it really harm you? If a 15 year old cannot get a girl to fuck (not that he should if he can get) then what is wrong in him masturbating to some porn?
Frankly, I see no harm in a little porn. There are hundreds of people out there who do not have access to sex at times they want to have sex, and if they are not imaginative enough, there is no harm in prodding that imagination along. As long as you realize that porn is for masturbating and it is unrealistic, you should do fine.

On "Bananas"

I was watching Bananas the movie by Woody Allen. Disappointed. Agreed that he was just starting out, but still disappointing. The jokes were not the kind you would expect from Allen, they were very base and simple. Compared to Manhattans and Annie Hall, this was bad. Wasted my time.

Ford in Ruins

I was reading about Ford Motors' worth How can this be true? A company fell into such ruins that it is worth only 13B dollars. What a shame. Can no one do something about it? Can't they hire someone who can actually solve some of the problems? UWA and pension notwithstanding is there no way to turn Ford around?
